Useful Ideas To Help Your Garden Grow

For many of us, gardening is more than something we do simply to make our house or our property look more attractive.
It can be an ideal way to lower our stress levels and get some exercise while breathing in fresh air and getting in touch with nature.

In areas that are very dry, you should plant drought resistant plants. These hardy plants will survive, and thrive, on very little water, and in hot conditions. Many varieties have blooms as beautiful as any high maintenance types of plants. You can even get low-water edible plants for your garden.

When you are working on your garden, you should always be sure to have a good product to kneel on. There are many products that are especially designed for gardening, and these are incredibly important as they allow you to feel more relaxed and comfortable as well as protecting your knees.

When applying mulch, lay the mulch thickest between plants, and taper the mulch down to soil level. Avoid piling the mulch against the trunks or against the stems of plants, this will invite pests, disease and dampness to the plant and may encourage mold or rot. Avoid using peat moss as mulch because it will dry out and can blow away.

Salt deposits can form unsightly marks on your clay pots. To easily remove the deposits mix water, rubbing alcohol and white vinegar in equal parts and spray onto the pots. Scrub with a plastic pad or brush and allow the pot to dry completely. Once the pot is dry, you are ready to plant.

Deadhead annual flowers constantly. This will encourage new growth and promote flowering all season. With perennials, cut the entire plant down by a third after flowering. It will bush out and provide you with a new flush of flowers later in the season. At the end of the season, leave the spent flowers on plants until they dry up, and collect the seeds.

Yeast traps can rid your garden of slugs. Just sink some shallow jars filled with beer into the ground. The slugs are naturally attracted to the yeast the beer contains. They will enter the trap and won’t come out. Check your traps every few days to keep them clean.

If you are not a fan of wearing gloves when gardening but still hate dirty fingernails, try scraping your fingernails in a bar of soap prior to beginning. The soap will keep soil from entering underneath your nails, plus the soap will help keep your nails from cracking or breaking.

Hold off having a pond in your garden until your children are older. A pond, no matter how shallow, can be very dangerous for small children. If you start off with a sunken sandpit for your toddlers to play in, you can easily convert it into a garden pond when they are older. Simply line the area with a rubber pond liner or use a preformed pond.

Creating a beautiful garden and enjoying a relaxing hobby is well within your reach. If you use these tips, you will find out that gardening can prove fun and enjoyable!

A simple change in lifestyle or an ointment could make a huge difference in your hemorrhoid symptoms. This article will provide you with many different tips to deal with your hemorrhoids.

When you have hemorrhoids, be sure to stay away from spicy foods. Spicy foods can be extremely irritating to your hemorrhoids. It is also recommended that you avoid consuming too much beer, soft drinks or coffee.

Stop irritating your hemorrhoids with spicy foods. These spices can cause undo inflammation in your hemorrhoids as they come in contact with your stool. Spices are typically digested and pass as waste. Consider cutting back on carbonated beverages, including beer, as these can also contribute to irritation of the hemorrhoids.

One of the key tips to helping with your hemorrhoid problem is to drink lots and lots of water. Doctors suggest that you drink eight to ten glasses of water a day. This helps by keeping your body hydrated and works to make your stool softer for easy passage. Without water in your diet, your stool becomes hard and will hurt when passing.

There are supplements available on the market that you can take to promote healthy vein circulation if you are prone to hemorrhoids. The number one supplement on the market made for this purpose is Venapro. This will help you maintain healthy bowel movements and will ensure you deal with your hemorrhoids.

If pepper is your worst enemy in the fight against hemorrhoids, then water is one of your greatest allies. Water is good for a great deal of things when it comes to your body, so it should be ingested anyway. An additional benefit is that it helps to flush out your system.

Reducing your salt intake can help you deal with a hemorrhoid outbreak and protect you against future hemorrhoids. In general, salt causes your bodily tissues to swell. It has this effect on hemorrhoids, making them more painful and slower to heal. Too much salt also increases your blood pressure, which can contribute negatively to hemorrhoid troubles.

Pattaya Girl Friend Experience

_DSC2434

What is the Girl Friend Experience? The Girl Friend Experience, or GFE, is what is commonly referred to by Pattaya visitors as finding a bar girl in Pattaya and your experience is similar to that of a girlfriend.

There are some guys who go to Pattaya and all they want to do is conquer as many girls as possible. Then, there are others, who want to find that one, special lady and spend all of their time with her. They want a part-time girlfriend that will treat them special.

Some guys make the mistake of searching for that special lady going only on looks. They want to be able to walk down the street with that girl on their arm and watching the expressions of other guys as they walk by.

They are looking for a “10” and really don’t care what the cost is. They just want the eye candy on their arm and will pay for the experience.

Others prefer to look for a girl based on attitude and not on looks. Of course, they want someone who looks nice, but attitude is more important than outward appearance.

From previous experience, I would recommend looking in the beer bars as opposed to searching in the go-go bars. The girls in the beer bars may not be rated a “10′ in looks, but many will be a “10” in attitude.

You will find that many of the girls are looking for a boyfriend and eventually a husband and have to do what they do to survive. They may or may not have a child back home. They also may or may not already have a boyfriend. This you will have to determine for yourself.

Just be careful that you are not sponsoring someone that is just after your hard earned money. They may be duping you and giving the money to their Thai boyfriend. You will have to decide based on the individual girl.

Your best bet to finding the girl friend experience is to just go out, chat up some of the girls, and find on that clicks with you. Let her approach you and see what happens. Treat her well, show respect, and she most likely will make your vacation all the better.

No one will be able to advise you on any particular girl. No one will know here like you do. You will have to use your own judgment and think with your big head and decide for yourself. You can explain your situation at any of the Pattaya forums, and you will get all kinds of advice, but only you will be able to make the decision.

Be smart. Go slow. Think before you do. Have fun and look for girls with positive attitudes over girls that prefer to watch themselves in a mirror while dancing.

Sometimes it is planned. Sometimes it just happens. If you do fall in love, step back and take a hard look at the situation before you send any money and agree to sponsor the girl.

Be careful; use your head while you are looking, and good luck in finding that girl friend experience.

A collection of tips on how to begin gardening makes the perfect starting point for a beginner to emerge and hopefully begin growing their own plants in A much smoother manner. Below is just such a collection that will hopefully assist the eager novice into eventually becoming a pro when it comes to gardening.

To get rid of the snails plaguing your garden, set an open container of beer on its side where you usually find them. The snails will be drawn to the scent of the beer and trap themselves. If you’d like to make this trap even more effective, try adding a little bit of brewer’s yeast to the can.

If this is your first time planting a garden, you should purchase seeds and plant them in seed trays to allow them to grow some before planting them outside. By doing this, your plant will be stronger and much more likely to survive once you plant it in the soil outside.

Make use of rain buckets and barrels around your home. You can later use this collected rainwater on your garden to grow healthier plants, while saving the planet. This method also reduces your water bill, as you can’t be charged for using the water that runs off your roof!

An important prerequisite for having a successful garden, is preparing the soil for your seeds or seedlings. Poor soil grows poor plants. One way to obtain rich soil is to buy or make organic compost and mix it into the soil that you plan to plant the garden. You can also add manure to the soil to make it more fertile. It is wise to refrain from using chemical fertilizers, since they can burn your crops and also be harmful to your health.

Consider the benefits of indoor gardening especially in the long winter months. Plants inside of the home can actually add decor to your environment as well as add moisture and oxygen to your indoor air. You don’t have to add a lot of plants inside of your home to truly be able to make a difference, a few plants are more than enough.

If you want to grow fruit trees but have limited space on your property, consider dwarf fruit trees. Many fruit trees are available in dwarf varieties, including apple, peach and pear. These trees typically reach approximately three to eight feet. Not only do they take up less room and produce lots of delicious fruit, but their low height makes it easier to harvest the fruit.

Protect your hands when gardening. Garden gloves are made to fit all different hand sizes. They protect your hands not only from getting dirty but also from splinters, cuts and scrapes. Most gloves are inexpensive and are well worth the investment.

Well, hopefully the aforementioned collection of tips was enough to give you a great start on what to do and expect when it comes to growing your own plants. This collection was carefully constructed to be an aid in your arsenal so that you can begin to hone your gardening skills into growing healthy plants.

Recipe: san diego fish tacos

San Diego Fish Tacos

While visiting San Diego a number of years ago I fell in love with fish tacos, that city’s signature dish. Cabbage makes a crunchy and nutritious alternative to the iceberg lettuce normally used in tacos. Like most tacos, this one is a little messy to eat, so have plenty of napkins around.

1/2 cup canola oil
1 cup beer
1 large egg
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 (8 ounce) white fish fillets (such as scrod,
pollack, snapper, haddock, halibut, and catfish),
pin bones removed and each fillet cut crosswise
into 6 pieces (by the fish monger, if possible)
1 small to medium sweet onion such as Vidalia, 4 to 8 ounces
10 sprigs cilantro
1/2 cup light or regular mayonnaise
1/2 cup low-fat yogurt
1 small head green cabbage, 12 to 16 ounces
1 ripe but firm avocado
1 lime
1 (12 ounce) jar medium-hot salsa
12 flour tortillas, about 8 inches in diameter

Put the oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Combine the beer, egg, and flour in a medium-size mixing bowl. Stir in the mustard, cayenne, salt, and several grindings of black pepper. Put 6 pieces of fish in the batter, coat well, and add to the skillet. Cook for 3 minutes, turn the pieces over, and cook for 3 more minutes until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel-lined platter. Repeat with the remaining 6 pieces. Reduce the heat if needed to prevent burning.

While the fish cooks, peel and quarter the onion and remove the leaves from the cilantro sprigs. Put the onion and cilantro in a food processor and pulse several times, or until coarsely chopped. (Or chop by hand. ) Add the mayonnaise and yogurt to the processor and pulse just once or twice to combine. Put the onion-mayonnaise sauce in a small bowl.

Halve the cabbage lengthwise and remove the core from each half. Place each half on a cutting surface, flat side down. Cut into thin shreds with a chef’s knife. (Or shred using the large holes of a four-sided grater or the grating attachment of a food processor. ) You should have about 4 cups. Put the cabbage in a small bowl.

Halve pit and peel the avocados. Cut each half lengthwise into six slices. Lay the slices on a small plate. Cut the lime into 4 wedges and put in a small dish. Put the salsa in a small bowl with a slotted spoon (so you won’t get a lot of liquid in your tacos).

Bring all the ingredients for the tacos to the table and allow diners to make tacos one at a time as follows: Put a few tablespoons of cabbage in the middle of each tortilla. Top with 1 piece of fish, 1 tablespoon or so of the onion-mayonnaise sauce, 1 tablespoon of the salsa, 2 avocado slices, and a squeeze of lime. Fold and eat.

Makes 12 tacos, 3 per person.

Serves 4

Easy Tips To Follow To Increase Your Gardening Skills

For many people, gardening is more than just a hobby. Garden is one of the most relaxing and rewarding parts of their daily lives. Gardening can yield not just beautiful flowers and delicious fruits and vegetables, but less stress and tension as well! Read on for interesting and practical information, on how to get the most out of your gardening pleasure!

When you’re picking vegetables from your garden, choose to harvest them when they are at the peak of ripeness for the best flavor and the most nutrition. It is best to pick vegetables and fruits in the early morning, because they are still full of moisture and nutrients. With only a few exceptions, anything that you’re not going to use right away can then be preserved by chilling in the refrigerator.

Yeast traps can rid your garden of slugs. Just sink some shallow jars filled with beer into the ground. The slugs are naturally attracted to the yeast the beer contains. They will enter the trap and won’t come out. Check your traps every few days to keep them clean.

It isn’t necessary to have a huge back yard or large space in order to be a gardener. It is even possible to have a small garden somewhere like an apartment. If you live in a smaller space you will want to look into the possibility of having a potted garden in your laundry area.

For a mass of color from summer until the first frost, choose hardy fuchsias. Among the most popular and easy-to-grow shrubs, hardy fuchsias carry masses of bell-shaped flowers over a long season. They are perfect in garden beds, or grown as hedging. They grow in a variety of soils, but like it well-drained. Moderate sunshine is needed for masses of flowers, but a hardy fuchsia will actually grow in part shade, it just won’t produce as many blooms. Excellent varieties include Alice Hoffman, Tom Thumb, Lena Dalton and Tennessee Waltz.

If you have a garden pond, grow water lilies. Many people are under the impression that water lilies are very hard to grow, but it’s the exact opposite! The roots of the plant embed themselves in the mud at the bottom of a pond. From these roots grows a thick root stock, which is topped with the leaves and flowers that you see on the surface of the pond. You can also plant the water lily in a special pond basket. Simply line the basket with hessian to prevent the soil from falling through, and fill with ordinary garden soil. Rest the plant on top of the soil, and place in your pond. The only requirement for beautiful flowers is a sunny position.

Given how busy and stressed out life can be, it’s a wonder that more people do not take up gardening. As you have just read, there are many ways of making it easier and more cost effective and even, more fun. Hopefully, this article has planted a few seeds in your mind about how to be a better gardener, today!
