Playboy has traded in its risqué bunnies for some brews and hops.

The adult entertainment brand has opened its first ever beer garden not in Los Angeles or New York– but in Pune, India.

The 8,000-square-foot bar celebrated its opening last week. Former Playboy Bunny and Bollywood star Sunny Leone was there, according to the beer gardens Facebook page, and guest crowded into space and sampled from the menu that included gourmet pizzas, contemporary Indian cuisine, and the signature Hef Burger.

The space is decked out in modern club décor with communal Oktoberfest style benches where visitors can sip handcrafted cocktails- like the Playboy Martini and the Playboy Mojito.

Why Pune? The city about 60 miles outside of Mumbai, has a population of 3.1million and is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the country.  It is known for its political history but it has also become a tech hub with a cosmopolitan population, reports the Business Standard.

Also, entertainment in India is still perceived to be a young market and the California-based adult entertainment company wants a slice of the pie.  After its move to end the publications tradition of running nude centerfolds last year, it’s focus is to extending its brand globally.

If the Pune beer garden goes well, the company will unveil further similar ventures in the country’s cities Gurgaon and Hyderabad, with a flagship outlet in Bangalore by the autumn.
