Drunken Sauerkraut 3 strips bacon, sliced
1 mug carefully sliced onion

1(2 extra pound) bundle sauerkraut, rinsed and drained pipes

2 tablespoons brownish sugar 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds 1 (12 ounce) could beer or apple cider
3/4 mug grated carrot

Salt as well as pepper 1 tablespoon cut parsley

Saute bacon in tool size hefty pot or Dutch stove till all fat is provided, however bacon is not browned.

Add onion; cook, stirring periodically, 4 minutes or until softened.

Mix in the sauerkraut, sugar, caraway seeds and beer. Offer boiling. Lower warm; simmer, partially covered, 1 hr.

Include carrot. Simmer, partly covered, HALF AN HOUR longer. If combination is also damp, increase heat somewhat; cook, uncovered, a little much longer. Add salt and also pepper to taste. Sprinkle with parsley.

Makes 6 to 8 servings. Microwave Instructions: Minimize beer to 3/4 cup. Do not chop bacon. Microwave bacon on grid in microwave secure recipe regarding 13 x 9 inches, revealed at complete power 3 mins. Remove bacon and also grid; fall apart bacon. Include onion to dish. Microwave at complete power, 3 minutes, stirring after 2 mins. Mix in sauerkraut, sugar, caraway, beer, carrot and bacon. Cover with wax paper. Microwave at half power for 15 mins.
